About Us
We are owned and run by Scouts for Scouts. The Glasgow Scout Shop was owned by Greater Glasgow Area Scout Council, now Clyde Regional Scout Council and has been providing Scout uniforms, publications, badges & equipment since 1917! All profit made from The Glasgow Scout Shop goes straight back into Scouting.

Our online store never closes, but if you want to come in and see us, our opening hours are between

Monday - Friday: 9.00am - 17.30pm

How To Find Us

TRAIN: We are a 1-2 minute walk away from Charing Cross Station. Exit the station and turn left onto Elmbank Crescent. Walk past the multi-storey car park and turn right into Elmbank Street. The shop is about 75m down the street on the right.
It is also only a 5 minute walk from Anderston Station. If you come out of the station and head up underneath the kingston bridge passing the Hilton Hotel and Abbey building, turn right onto St Vincent Sreet and Elmbank St is first on the left.

CAR: From the M8 westbound, take the Charing Cross exit Keep left into Sauchiehall Street and turn right into Elmbank Street at the first set of lights. We are about 200m down on the right. From the M8 eastbound, take the City Centre exit. At the lights, turn left, left & right. We are about 100m on the left. There is metered parking out the front, or an NCP carpark situated behind the petrol station.

BUS: First Glasgow services X1, 9, 11, 16, 18, 44, 57 and others all pass close to the shop.

Why was something missing from my order?

Occasionally we may run out of a particular item. If this is the case it will automatically be sent on to you when it comes back into stock. You will be charged for this initially. There will be no further charge on despatch of the back order. If our suppiers have stock of what you need we should restock in about 10 days to a fortnight, (if not sooner). (Neckies will take a lot longer, please see below.) If there is going to be a lengthy delay on an item we will try to let you know by email.
Where are my neckies?

As you can imagine, there are so many styles and combinations of colours. Because of this, limited stocks of neckies can be kept. We of course try to keep as many as we can of styles that we know to be popular but it is impossible to predict large sales that could clean us out!

If we are out of stock of your neckie they can take about 6- 8 weeks to be delivered. The reason for this is that they are manufactured to order. The delivery time can vary depending on how many neckies are in production. There are only so many sewing machines!

Please be patient! Our advice to avoid disapointment is for groups to order a stock of neckies in good time for investitures. Make sure you have enough spare for those that get lost or for newcomers during the season. Be Prepared!

When your neckies get to us they will automatically be sent on to you.
Paying by Cheque
If you wish to pay for your order by group cheque please make this payable to "The Glasgow Scout Shop" and send to us at The Glasgow Scout Shop, 21 Elmbank St, Glasgow G2 4PB. Please mark the back with your name and order number. We will despatch your order when your cheque has been recieved.
Why can't I add an item I see on line to my 'cart'?

The item may not available to us at that time. More often than not there will have been a supply problem. We either can't get sufficient stocks or are unable to tell when we will be restocked. This happens most often with badges. To save customer back-orders mounting up we make the item unavailable. The item will be available again on line when it is available to us. Please be patient!
IMPORTANT - Membership Number Required
Please note that in order to purchase any official Scout Association Badges you MUST enter your full membership number on the payment section. If this number is not entered the order will NOT be processed. If you are unsure of your membership number please see the FAQ's section of the site in order to locate it.

We are trialing 4 new normal delivery options which are automatically banded in relation to the value of the order.

1) STANDARD Delivery: (Royal mail 2nd class or courier)

Orders up to £100 - £3.99
Orders over £100 - FREE!

2) EXPRESS Delivery: (Royal mail 1st class or courier.)

Orders up to £125 - £5.99
Orders over £125 - FREE

3) BADGE Standard: (Royal mail 2nd class or courier) This class of delivery will only be accepted if you are only purchasing badges and woggles. Any other items selected in your cart will result in full "Standard Delivery" charges being applied.

a) Orders up to £100 - £2.00
b) Orders over £100 - FREE!

4) EXPRESS BADGE: (Royal Mail 1st class or courier) This class of delivery will only be accepted if you are only purchasing badges and woggles. Any other items selected in your cart will result in full "Express Delivery" charges being applied.

b) Orders over £125 - FREE!

All goods are posted via Royal Mail or Interlink/DPD to mainland UK. We aim to post your order out the same day if recieved before 14.00hrs, Monday - Friday. Orders recieved after 15.00 should be despatched the next working day (Mon - Fri). A slight delay may occur if we are extremely busy, it may take an extra day or so for us to despatch it. We do our best to get your order on its way to you as fast as we can and we are commended on the speed of our service.

Royal Mail aim to deliver 1st class items within 1 - 2 working days and 2nd class within 3 - 5. Interlink/DPD parcels should be delivered within 1 - 2 working days. Please note a signature will be required if your delivery is couriered. If you know you will not be in, please leave a shipping note or change your delivery address to a work address for example.

A guaranteed next day delivery service within the UK is available Monday to Friday. However, it may not always be possible. The price of delivery will include original p&p plus a surcharge. This will be dependent on the nature and weight of the goods. Please phone the shop to see if this service is available. If it is, we will get back to you to confirm the extra cost of delivery. Please remember that guaranteed deliveries must be signed for.

Please also note that if your order is over a certain weight we may upgrade it to 1st class or courier at no extra charge.
